Privacy Policy

This policy explains what QuietTable collects when you use getquiettable.com, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.

1. What we collect

You give us: your name, email address, phone number, and password when you register; your reservation details (restaurant, date, time, party size, dietary notes or special requests); reviews and ratings you write; and messages you send our support team.

Collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring page. We use this for security, abuse prevention, and understanding which listings are useful.

From others: if you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive your name, email, and profile image from them. If your restaurant fails to honor a booking, we may receive details from them to resolve it.

2. Payment information

We do not store your card number. Card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor, under their own privacy policy. We retain only a payment reference, the amount, the last four digits, and card brand so we can show your receipt and issue refunds.

3. How we use your information

• To create your account and process your bookings.
• To send transactional email: booking confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and receipts. These are required for the service and are not marketing.
• To share necessary booking details with the restaurant you booked.
• To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and no-show patterns.
• To send marketing email about new restaurants or offers — only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe from any such email.

4. What we share with restaurants

When you book, the restaurant receives your first name, last initial, party size, reservation time, phone number, and any special requests or dietary notes you provide. They need this to seat you. They do not receive your payment details or your full account history.

5. Service providers

We share data with vendors who operate the service on our behalf:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Railway — application and database hosting
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Sentry — error monitoring

These providers may process your data only to perform services for us. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

6. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary: a session cookie that keeps you logged in and a security token that prevents cross-site request forgery. Blocking these will prevent you from signing in or booking.

7. Retention

Account and reservation records are kept while your account is active and for up to 7 years after, because financial and tax records require it. Reviews remain visible unless removed. Server logs are retained for 90 days. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal details except where we must keep transaction records.

8. Your rights

You can access and correct most of your information from your dashboard. You may request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion by emailing support@getquiettable.com; we respond within 30 days.

If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your data, and to appeal a refusal. Residents of California, the EU, and the UK have comparable rights under their own laws, which we honor on request. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

9. Security

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted with TLS, and payment data never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we will notify affected users and regulators promptly if a breach occurs.

10. Children

QuietTable is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has given us data and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We will post any update here with a new effective date, and email you if the change is material.
